Alcoholic Presentation Scenario (Technician)

You are called to a 38-year-old male who is acting confused and irrationally. The patient has been on their own all day and his friends have found him in this state and got concerned. He has been alcohol dependant for several years but usually never acts in this way when intoxicated. You try to approach the patient and introduce yourself, but the patient seems too agitated and distracted to focus on what you are saying. They start talking to a corner of the room, but you can’t make out what they are saying. You keep trying to explain who you are and why you are there, but nothing seems to be sticking. You ask the patient’s friends to ask similar questions to see if they get a reaction, but they get a similar response.
