Neutropenic Sepsis Scenario (ECA)

You are called to a 56 year old female who is feeling generally unwell. The family are concerned that she has another infection, as she seems to deteriorate rapidly when she becomes unwell. She is also reporting diarrhoea and vomiting.

On arrival, you find her under a number of blankets, including an electric blanket. She looks slightly pale and clammy but alert, and she is shaking. You take her initial observations: HR 112, BP 95/62, RR 24, SpO₂ 96%, Temp 39.6, BM 8.1, A on AVPU.
