Trauma Overview

Trauma can offer difficult challenges for pre-hospital clinicians. Trauma is the acute physiological and structural changes that occur in the body when an external source of energy dissipates faster than the body’s ability to sustain and dissipate it. Therefore trauma can be defined as a disease caused by physical injury. Trauma is seen as one of the most common causes of death in under 40’s within the United Kingdom (UK). In this section we will cover an overview of trauma and its’ management.
