A facial injury can present in several ways from mild with little effect to the patient, to severe causing patient compromise. As discussed in the head injury section, 1.4 million people will attend hospital for head injuries in England and Wales. It is likely that a percentage of these attendances will have been associated with, or also had, facial injuries. Here we will review the potential injuries of facial trauma and the complications that may arise.
